Since the devastating Haiti earthquake many groups have rushed to help, but one group in Gainesville is a little different than most.
TV20's Josh Rosenthal tells us that congregations from two different churches are working together and leaders say that in helping the Haitian people, they've helped themselves too.

On Saturday, October 10th, 2009, PASSAGE Family Church will host Judah Fest in Ocala at Tuscawilla Park, located at 701 NE Sanchez Ave, Ocala FL. The free event is open to the public and will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the first time that the ministry has taken the event on the road.
During the Judah Fest, more than one thousand pounds of fish will be served along with grits, hot dogs, fixings and drinks. Many onlookers will be inspired by choirs, praise dancers and soloists from PASSAGE and throughout the community. The event has drawn crowds of more than 2,000 in the past.
Senior Pastor and Founder George Dix, Jr. said Judah Fest is just another way to bring the mission of the church to the people.
“I honestly believe that the true measure of a church is determined by what happens when the lights are off and the doors are locked,” Dix said. “We feed guests both spiritual and natural food, which is what Jesus did."
Also during the three-hour event, children will meet PASSAGE’s official mascot Bennie the Flying High Eagle, Pastor George and Lady Michele Dix as well as Associate Pastors.

In February, 2003 under the direction of Lady Michele Dix, a choir, destined and ordained by God to fulfill a great mission in the expansion of His Kingdom, affectionately named the Sanctuary Choir, debuted during a Black History program with approximately 20 members. God took the choir to another level as it grew to approximately 30 members and welcomed Min. Lionel Walker as the Minister of Music and the choir was renamed to the PASSAGE Chorale. Min. Walker served the PASSAGE Chorale from 2003 to 2006. During this time, praise & worship leader Eugene “Billy” Phillips was appointed as Assistant Minister of Music in 2005 and later appointed to Associate Pastor of Music, Worship and the Arts in 2006 and served faithfully until 2009.
During an awesome move of God in 2006, Senior Pastor George renamed the choir NEXT DIMENSION to declare and represent the levels, we as a ministry, was soaring to -the NEXT DIMENSION: that ever expanding realm of abundant power, abundant glory and abundant provision. For a six month term, Bro. Ivan Douglas was appointed Minister of Music and was succeeded by Bro. Jarred Evans, who served as a musician for PASSAGE since 2005, as Director of Music effective 2008.
In 2009, Min. Evette Hutchinson was appointed Executive Director of Music, Worship and the Arts along with Min. Palenthia Boswell who was appointed Assistant Executive Director of Music, Worship and the Arts. The current directors of NEXT DIMENSION are Min. Romona Akins, Min. Palenthia Boswell and Cassie Dix accompanied with an awesome band of musicians consisting of Jarred Evans (Keyboard/Organ), Johnny Boswell, Jr (Drummer), Cephas Small (Saxophonist) and Carlon Hunt (Drummer).
With 64 active members making up NEXT DIMENSION, we are continuing to grow exponentially and spiritually under the dynamic leadership of Sr. Pastor George and Lady Michele Dix as we strive to fulfill the God given Vision of PASSAGE Family Church as well as answer the Great Call to Kingdom Expansion, by reaching people where they are through anointed music and proclaiming that we are FOREVER Changed, NEVER to be the same again!
