(Mark 2:21-22 and John 4:7-16) We're living in a time when society is overly consumed with outer beauty. From tummy tucks to facial injections it appears that society refuses to age the way that God intended-GRACEFULLY! Pastor George reminded the congregation that it is time for an extreme makeover. an inner makeover that is. Mark 2:22 reads: And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. As believers awaiting God's next move, we must be willing and ready for God to pour into us; however, our old habits and sins must done away with so that when the fresh wine (the new season of blessing) is to be poured into us, we are ready to receive them in our new bottles, which won't burst because they've been properly handled and processed! How do we prepare ourselves for our new wineskin?
Often times we ask God to move our mountains but what we should request from the Lord is for Him to move in us! When Jesus encountered the woman from Samaria (John 4:7) who was in search of a water to quench her natural thirst, He knew that there was a much greater need for an inner quenching (extreme makeover) that would transform her life forever! In a final word, Pastor listed five actions that we can take to move to the Next Dimension and Fly Higher:
Quote of the sermon: "We don't turn God on when we get ready-No maam, no sir!" Scripture References:Sunday, September 3rd, 2006
