Isaiah 55: 3, 6-9

In the first Sunday sermon of 2009, Pastor George B. Dix Jr. reminded us that our God is a god of Covenant, Purpose and Timing.  God's way and God's timing defines His divine order.  We often times get caught up in our own plans, however any endeavour that does not include God first or reflect His ways, will and timing, is destined to fail.  God is jealous and He deserves to be first in our lives.

Pastor encouraged us to make three Faith Confessions for 2009, so that we don't have to "go around the same mountain" we did in 2008.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. - Job 22:28

The faith confessions were as follows:

1. "In the name of Jesus, I confess my faith in the Almighty God, El Shaddai... and no attack of the enemy shall cause my faith to fail.  I walk by faith and I live in Victory."
   
   Phillipians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
   Isaiah 54:17 - "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper..."
   2 Corinthians 10:4 - "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."
   Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God..."
   Genesis 50:20 - "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good..."
   1 Corinthians 15:57-58 - "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ..."
   
   
2. "In the name of Jesus, I will live the all sufficient, abundant and prosperous life that Jesus came to give me, now and eternally.  I am loved by God.  I am His and I walk in His favor."
   
   Psalm 1:3 - "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season..."
   John 10:10 - "...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
   2 Corinthians 9:8 - "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency..."
   Joshua 1:8 - "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night..."
   
   
3. "In the name of Jesus, I confess that a fresh anointing of power, wisdom and revelation is mine daily to fulfill my Kingdom assignment with excellence."
   
   Zechariah 4:6 - "...Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
   Lamentations 3:23 - "They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
   Ephesians 1:17-19 - "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him..."
