Victorious Spiritual Warfare

Genesis 4: 1-7
Ephesians 4:27, 6:10-12

As we live out the last days, we need to be ready to hear what God is saying to us and prepare ourselves to receive a word that we can share with others (coworkers, family, friends and even our enemies).

Genesis 4:7 clearly places the responsibility on believers and nonbelievers to close the door to sin on.  This passage of scripture states that when we choose to do what is wrong, sin lays us at the threshold.  Pastor Dix stressed to the congregation to cut off all unrighteousness that binds, trips and separates us from a closer walk God.  As bible scholars delving deeper into God’s Word, we must study the plays of the adversary (like playing chess or football).  It is imperative for us to know beforehand what move or plays the Devil will call next.  Satan may come through our children, spouse, boss or our finances.  Nevertheless, we already know that his chief objective is to send us to Hell.  And we know that the VICTORY is already won!

Pastor Dix warned parishioners to become just as serious about our walk with God as the Devil is about his game.  Every opportunity we have to fellowship with Jesus should be seized with all seriousness, and humility.

Because the enemy is cunning, and deceitful he anxiously anticipates the perfect opportunity to catch us off guard. Whether we rush out of the house without praying or choose not to fast when we know we should. He sits and waits at the front door and more than anything else, desires for us to hear the word and NOT receive it and continue living the same old way! 2 Corinthians 10:4 plainly reads

"For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal (physical), but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds."

This means that our battles are spiritual and they can only be won in the sprit realm!

In closing Pastor Dix shared the spiritual protocol that Jesus sets in John 14:6 that reads:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

So as we pray, we should never forget to pray in Jesus’ name. Lastly, Pastor encouraged the congregation by citing 1 John 4:4, which reads,

"Greater is He that is in us than he who lives in the world."

Quotes of the sermon:

  • "It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee, so when we leave the house of God we have the power to let our light shine!"
  • "If you don’t have Jesus, you’re a dead man walking." - Pastor George Dix, Jr.
