Hebrews 4:14-16 ; 10:19-21,23,35,36

As disciples we must remember that God's word is not changed by our circumstances or by what others have said and we must trust God in the good and in the bad. Pastor George Dix Jr. said as believers in Christ that we must always ask ourselves

  • Lord, what do you want me to get out of this? What are you saying to me? What do you want me to do?
  • How can we give you praise in the midst of this trial?

As we endure our tests and trials, we must not allow these things to move us from our profession of faith. When we hold fast to our profession of faith, we then know:

"...that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" - Romans 8:28

During our storms, we must be steadfast and unmoveable. This allows God to dwell in our tabernacle. In the good fight, we must not cast away our confidence, but we should be reassured that God is going to move in our favor. We may not know how or when, but God will do it. The same God that saved Israel is the same God that wants to dwell within us! Within YOUR tabernacle.

In God's word, He reminds us that He wants to dwell in our tabernacle. God chose Israel to be His people, and gave us access to Him. Moses built the tabernacle. He roped off a special place where people could see God. "I am in the tabernacle." God walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden (the garden being the tabernacle). We must remember that God is never too high or too far away that He can't come down to dwell in our new tabernacle (within us). We need to have a tabernacle experience with God.

In closing, Pastor George referred to John 3:16. If we come to God through Jesus, we will not perish. Through Jesus, God gives us access to Him.

Quote of the sermon:

“God wants to give us access to Him.... He's not just some any-ole'-body! ” - Pastor George Dix Jr.
