Dr. Fred W. Ball, Jr., of Decatur, Georgia serves as Principal & Chief Administrator of PASSAGE Christian Academy. His background encompasses many areas including applied Christian Worldview, Apologetics, Curriculum Development, and Athletics. He holds a Ph.D. in Christian Thought from the American University, a Master’s Degree in Theology from Luther Rice University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia State University. His doctoral dissertation was entitled, “Grace and Race: an Analysis of the Imago Dei in the Civil Rights Movement”. He was the founder of the Trinity Christian Apologetics Fellowship, a research ministry dedicated to the defense of the Christian faith.
Dr. Ball has been active in Christian education for over 18 years and has taught America History, Bible, Classical History, and Apologetics, and served as the baseball coach at the prestigious Whitefield Academy in Atlanta, Ga. He has also taught at major home school consortiums such as the Lilburn Alliance Home School Association and the DeKalb Homeschoolers Association. He was an adjunct instructor at Georgia State University. In private business, he was the Regional Program Coordinator for University Instructors, a Title I tutoring company serving the education system of Georgia.
Dr. Ball is now in his 6th year at PASSAGE Christian Academy. Dr. Ball has tirelessly steered the academy toward excellence in academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. During his tenure, P.C.A. students have been meritoriously cited in Speech & Debate, the MLK Spelling Bee and Brain Bowl, as well as in Basketball with the Florida Private School Athletics Association. He also serves P.C.A. as the French Language instructor and P.E. teacher.
