“Disjointed In A Barren Land” (Part II)
(Ezekiel
37:1-7)
Pastor Dix expressed that as believers we should have open ears to tune
into what God has to say. When we don't hear what God is speaking to our
hearts we are at risk of being in a barren land and living beneath God's
promise. To experience bountiful blessings from God it is important that
we ask ourselves a couple of questions to evaluate our Kingdom walk.
First, we should examine our sensitivity to God's voice by asking ourselves:
- What is God's plan for me?
- What is God preparing me for?
- What is God waking me up to?
After meditating on these questions, we should then examine which step
we are on as it relates to our spiritual growth.
Pastor Dix used bricks and steps as a spiritual metaphor; thereby, saying
that when we discard bricks (i.e the Word of God) we remain in on the same
step because we are missing those bricks that are needed for us to get to
the next level. Unfortunately, when bricks are missing we fall through!
Therefore, it is imperative that we apply every word to our lives so that
God can take us to His place of promise! When we ignore God's Word we become
lifeless dry bones, but when God's Word manifests in our lives, we can boldly
speak life into our barren situations. Like Pastor Dix said we need to "speak
to the bones."

“Disjointed In A Barren Land” (Part III)
(Ezekiel
37:1-7)
Pastor Dix explained the importance of understanding how God operates.
He said that God is a God of covenant, which is an agreement. God relates
to people through promises and speaks to us through His Word. God is so
devoted to His children that He will even look out for those connected to
us. He proves His loyalty to the children of God by holding Himself subject
to His Word! Numbers
23:19 reads that God cannot lie!
Without the presence of God abiding in us, Pastor Dix described us as "dead
men walking." God wants to resuscitate us by breathing new life into us!
To experience new life we must eat our veggies (broccoli, cauliflower and
okra) and meat (liver, spam and other potted meats---"yuck!")
the nutritional portion of God's Word that doesn't always taste so good.
God wants us to receive the meat of His Word then apply it to our lives
daily. When we are spiritually malnourished, we are dried up and don't realize
it, which causes us to be in a barren land or at risk of entering into a
barren land.
Lastly, Pastor Dix encouraged us to come out of our self-created valleys
by standing on those bricks (God's Word) that we've tossed aside!

“The Advocator”
(John
14:15-18,26)
Pastor Dix reminded us that it's one thing to come to church, it's another
to have an experience with God. In this week's message, Pastor recalled
Jesus' promise that upon returning to His Father, he would send us a comforter,
a holy advocate, to protect and guide us through the trials of life. (John
14:15-18,26).
God loves us, and when we obey His commands, He will do anything we ask
for in His name. It's is critical that we obey God's commands. When we hear
the word of God, we need to apply that word in our lives.
Satan is constantly accusing us before God, and we need a divine advocate
to represent us on our behalf. There is nothing that God can't work out.
He promised and He delivered. Regardless of what your past situation may
have been, God's love and mercy is neverending. Whatever may be troubling
you, give it up to God and he'll work it out.
Quote of the Sermon:
"Turn it over to God, because He can do a better job. Let it go!" -
Pastor George Dix Jr.
